MPREC has been working hard to support community groups in the region, especially in Cobar, where one initiative has been featured in the local newspaper.
The MPREC Market Garden in Cobar has facilitated an activity with LiveBetter, another community organisation.
LiveBetter delivers aged care, family, child and disability services to individuals and families in regional areas. Their group in Cobar has been going to the Market Garden to pick vegetables and help feed animals. MPREC has also donated a special pig, Wilma, to the organisation.
MPREC was also mentioned in the ‘Thank You’ section of the paper, for the work the Cobar Work for the Dole group has done at the Pony Club grounds. They have been assisting with general maintenance at the grounds and it has been greatly appreciated.
Meanwhile, one of our WFD groups have answered a call from Ronald McDonald House (Orange) for toiletry bags, to be used for guests staying at their facilities.
Our Cobar Community Kits WFD ladies made 25 bags to donate, and plan to make more in the future. Here is a picture of them with their goods!
It is fantastic to see our initiatives and our clients giving back in a meaningful way to their communities. It has clearly been appreciated and we are always working towards more ways to integrate with other community groups.
This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
