If you’ve ever pictured yourself working with customers and colleagues in restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops, then a career in hospitality is for you.
 
This course covers a wide range of activities. It will help you to learn the practical skills you require and will give you the knowledge to be competent in a range of hospitality environments. By successfully completing this course, you will build your confidence to work with others, develop the knowledge and skills to work in a safe and hygienic environment and learn to use your hospitality skills effectively.
 
Depending on the electives you study, you could gain employment as a bar attendant, bottle shop attendant, café attendant, catering assistant, food and beverage attendant, front office assistant, gaming attendant, porter or room attendant.

You will be required to study 12 units of competency to complete this qualification.  There are 6 core units and 6 elective units.

Six (6) units from the areas of learning in accommodation services, administration, client and customer service, sales, communication and teamwork, commercial cookery and catering, computer operations and ICT management, environmental sustainability, finance, first aid, food and beverage, food safety & hygiene, gaming, inventory, kitchen operations, sales in a language other than English.
